#Tennessee lawmaker: Please test us for #drugs
I never understand how people can’t see that asking welfare recipients - normally and incorrectly stereotyped as mostly Black and lazy - to take drug tests isn’t fundamentally racist, or at least classicist. Sure we want to make sure government money is spent “appropriately” yet we take no initiative to drug test college students receiving Federal grants or loans. And that demographic has beyond proven a disposition to drug use! At least this governor is willing to point out the inherent flaw in trying to stereotype behind the veil of colorblindism: it can always be flipped back onto you!
